Give Now Online

General Gift to the Abbey

General donations to the abbey help to defray the costs of everyday life here at St. Michael’s. By assisting our community, you enable us to continue our ministry of prayer in the abbey church—the foundation of all our many other works.

Seminarian Fund

In an age when many seminaries and monasteries struggle to find vocaions, we are grateful to God for the steady influx of new young men he gives to us each year. Your support helps us house and educate our seminarians on their path to the holy priesthood.

Summer Camp

This fund is used primarily to provide financial assistance to families who may otherwise not be able to send their sons to camp. We ask that you please consider contributing any amount that you are able to in order to help us send more boys to camp.

New Abbey

Our abbey attracts many young men to the priesthood, who will go on to serve in parishes, help in the dioceses of Southern California, teach at schools, give retreats, and form other men and women across North America and abroad. Although our growth is a great blessing, it also has presented a challenge to providing a suitable living space for everyone. Our current home is insufficient for housing all the members of the community and the students. We have run out of room to expand. Your gift will help us build the new abbey and school, approximately seven miles from our current home, which will enable future generations to benefit from the cultural, educational, and sacramental presence of an abbey and a premier boarding school. Real Estate

Donating appreciated real estate, such as a home, vacation property, undeveloped land, farmland, ranch or commercial property can make a great gift to the St. Michael’s Abbey Foundation.

Benefits of gifts of real estate:

  • Avoid paying capital gains tax on the sale of the real estate
  • Receive a charitable income tax deduction based on the value of the gift
  • Leave a lasting legacy to St. Michael’s Abbey

Your real property may be given to the St. Michael’s Abbey Foundation by executing or signing a deed transferring ownership. Your gift will generally be based on the property's fair market value, which must be established by an independent appraisal. Existing debt or a mortgage can negatively affect the charitable value of your real property.

If you have any questions about gifts of real estate, please the Abbey’s Chief Advancement Officer at (949) 546-0695. We would be happy to assist you and answer any questions that you have.

Electronic and Wire Transfer

Gifts can be transferred via domestic or international wire transfer. Electronically transferred funds should be payable in U.S. dollars. Please notify our office in advance of your intent to wire funds.
